Azzam Alhussain

Edge AI researcher

Biography

I am an Electrical Engineering Ph.D. student at the University of Central Flroida working under the supervision of professor Mingjie Lin in the Autonomous Computing lab. We are researching hardware acceleration techniques for improving the performance/throughput of optimized Deep Neural Networks on edge devices, specifically focusing on compression DNNs approaches and reconfigurable computing for implementing Computer Vision algorithms on AMD SoC-FPGAs and NVIDIA Jetson with minimal loss of accuracy. I also have a keen interest in enhancing Quantization and Knowledge Distillation compression approaches for efficient real-time inference of AI Medical Imaging and ADAS models powered by Edge AI and Embedded ML computing platforms for various Applied Intelligence Applications in Supervision tasks.
